In a celebration of excellence and innovation in the culinary industry, Holy Angel University held its inaugural SHTM Awards for Tourism and Hospitality Excellence which took place at Casa Nena, St. Therese of Lisieux Building today, June 5.
The SHTM Awards hosted by Dr. Felipe B. Pablo is an initiative of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management of HAU to recognize individuals, Kapampanganโs Culinary establishments, and founders that have made significant contributions to the culinary industry, especially in the Kapampangan Cuisine. These are Tibuk-tibuk, Pansit Luglug, Sisig, Kare-Kare, and Halo-Halo.
Dr. Al D. Biag, the Vice President for Academic Affairs marks the opening of the event while Mr. Leopoldo Jaime Valdez OIC- President shares an inspirational message to the finalists and guests.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mervyn Aldana, the newest Dean of SHTM concluded the ceremony with fascinating news. โSHTM plans to launch a webpage dedicated to [showcase] all the awardees and finalists,โ said in his speech.
โSo it is our help to the Tourism Industry in Pampanga, so when people would like to visit Pampanga, they can search whereโs the best sisig, halo-halo, etcโ he added.
Furthermore, attended and finalist in this event were Apag Marangle, LBS Bakeshop and Kitchenette, My Lola Nors, Otties, Sussieโs Cuisine, Bettys Native Cake, Nathaniels Bakeshop, Perfect Loaf, Wil-Fels Delicacies, Apung Lucing, Cadocs Sisig and BBQ, Bembiโs Kitchen, Cusina de Parilla, Milaโs Restaurant, Bale Capampangan, Binulo Restaurant, Souq, Ikabud, Gerryโs Grill, Juradoโs 5, Cabigting, MacabeBest, Razonโs, and RFW.
