The Concierge attend PAPSAS III on May 12-13

The Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services Region 3 held its 17th Annual Convention and Student Leaders Summit on May 13-14 at Bakasyunan, Iba, Zambales. With this year’s theme “Celebration of Friendship Through Culture and Research”, the organization encompasses the skills and capabilities of Student Leaders in Central Luzon.


Raine Torrence Policarpio (incoming Editor-in-Chief), Cee J Galang (incoming Associate Editor), Karylle Myrt Sunga (incoming Managing Editor), and Stefen Nobuo Takeno (incoming Advertising Manager) represented The Concierge at the event. Among the HAU’s participants are the University Student Council and Publications who showcase their Angelite values of Conscience, Competence, and Compassion.


During the first day of the convention, Dr. Bryan Jester S. Balmeo, Senior Education Program Specialist, filled the table with a collaborative workshop as he conducted SAS research, and highlighted the importance of research in the modern day. In addition, Balmeo introduces methods for creating action research titles, which incorporate variables of noun, intervention, and condition to be improved.


Meanwhile, Abelardo “Jun” Cortez, an alumnus from Holy Angel University, a Licensed Professional Teacher, and one of the Huwarang Mag-aaral ng Gitnang Luzon 2022, emphasizes his talk through the “Kampay Sequel” on how having a unique brand of leadership and standing up for the student body leaves a mark on the student and its constituents. Additionally, Cortez also shared his viral valedictory speech, wherein he addressed the importance of coffee in developing outstanding leadership.


This year’s convention filled the air with moments of inspiration, collaboration, cultural exchange, and friendship during the socialization night which displays various talents of participants in the field of poetry, special pageant, dancing, singing, and TikTok challenges. More so, the team building brought together student-leaders and practitioners to unite, learn, and make friendships together in different activities that test their teamwork and dedication.

Through stimulating speeches as well as engaging workshops, the event successfully concluded the potential of cooperation, socialization, and personal growth as participants looked at innovative approaches for becoming greater catalysts for change and leaders in their respective fields
